Comebacks Take the Stage in The Big Easy

August 2009

Current and former Great Comebacks® Award recipients participated in a special session at the United Ostomy Associations of America national conference in New Orleans from August 6-8, to talk about the program and what it means to be a “Great Comeback.”

Together with Rolf, Rob Hill and Comeback Kids® Ambassador Justin Roberts (see photo above), participants in the panel discussion included Bob Baker, Lisa Becker, Jude Ebbinghaus, Charlie Grotevant and Wendy Lueder.

During the conference, Rolf signed his latest book, Embracing Life, for visitors to the ConvaTec booth. On the final day, Rob gave a closing address, which featured the first US showing of his new video, Journey to Everest, chronicling the expedition last year in which Rob was unable to continue climbing due to an intestinal blockage.

Reaffirming his commitment to the cause, Rob’s main message from that experience is to never give up. “The most important thing isn’t about reaching the top of the mountain – it’s about moving mountains.”
