Go On – Eat More Pizza!

Eating one or more pizza’s a week could dramatically reduce the incidence of certain types of killer disease, according to Italian scientists. A study of 8,000 Italians found that regular pizza-eaters were 59% less likely than non-eaters to contract cancer of the oesophagus. Eating pizza was also found to reduce the risk of cancer of the colon by 26%.

“We knew that tomato sauce was protective against certain tumours,” said Silvano Gallus, a researcher at the Milan pharmacology centre which carried out the tests.

“But we certainly didn’t expect that pizza as a whole would provide such strong protection.”
